Banjo Kazooie Level Design
About projectBanjo Kazooie is a successful Nintendo 64 platformer, often referred to as a "collect-a-thon" in which players were encouraged to explore and experiment through the game's myriad of collectibles. As part of my training in IGAD this level was created as a fictional Banjo Kazooie level, in order to learn about spatial narration and item placement, in addition to creating a flowing and interesting level design.
During the creation of this level, I learned to critically examine the purpose of gameplay objects within a level and how this impacts their placement. I also learned create levels in ways in which the structure of a the environment can help guide the player and explain objectives and gameplay elements. |
